 WEEK 3 BLOG The Art of Effective Communication.”  How did your interpretation of the message change from one modality to the next? Although the message was the same content, the mode of delivery influenced its interpretation and urgency.  The email message seemed a little sarcastic at the beginning when the sender said you are probably ‘in that all-day meeting ‘ instead of saying that ‘you might be busy in meetings today, however’, I think how you phrase or construct a written message can impact the receiver, so one should be careful not to use words whose tone or attitude may be misconstrued or ambiguous.  However, I interpreted the message in the audio format to be more friendly based on the tone, as while it was urgent, it wasn’t aggressive or sarcastic.  In the video message, the interpretation of the message was more personable as it combined audio and visual elements like tone, gestures, and attitude were communicated using body language.   Week 2  Project Post Mortem Photo by  Annie Spratt  on  Unsplash           The project I would like to reflect on is the e-Learning Jamaica Project where   Zed Jamaica, where I worked as a consultant, won the tender for the development of two educational courses. In this project, the organization was subcontracted to create online lessons in math and science for secondary schools throughout the island for grades 10 and 11 in preparation for regional standardized examinations. These standardized exams are quite important to that culture since passing five or more subjects serves as a desirable entry requirement for employment and a mandatory requirement for college admission.  The underperformance of students in math and science was of particular concern for the Ministry of Education (Department of Education) and its Minister of government, and so a hefty budget was allocated to address that concern on a national bas...
